Who's the Boss?

In figuring out who goes first playing a game, Tanner says...

Eenie meenie miney moe,
Catch a tiger by his toe,
If he hollers let him go,
My mother said you guys don't get a turn before I do.

Happy (official) Birthday!!!

We cannot believe how fast the last year went, but we had a great time celebrating Carsyn's official first birthday on Tuesday Feb. 23. Here's a run down of her day...

We started with our traditional birthday breakfast at the Waffle Shop...

Thank goodness for that straw while we waited for our food...

Carsyn loves sucking on those oranges. Tanner will probably try to trick her with a lemon soon...

After a day of lots of rest (recovering from a respiratory virus and an ear infection), we celebrated our other food-related birthday tradition, a spaghetti dinner (and it has to be LONG spaghetti)...

She was slurping it up...

And Tanner caught wind of cake after finishing dinner...

Speaking of that cake...

"Should I save my reserves for later...nah!"

Clearly feeling much better after that cake...

On to opening presents. Carsyn's looking at Mommy as if she's thinking "is this really for me?"

And finally, "do we have this already?"

Happy Birthday, Ladybug!!! We love you!

Celebrating A Very Special Lady!!!

Hello family and friends, please join us in wishing our little Lady Bug a very Happy First Birthday!!! Despite the ear problems and the doctor visits, the sleepless nights, the challenge of re-childproofing our house with another child around (darn Legos), we're constantly reminded how lucky we are and how God has blessed us with not one but two beautiful little beings that have brought us constant joy. We are so glad to have been able to share the best of this past year's memories with many of you.

We celebrated Carsyn's birthday a little early on Feb 13. As long as we started the festivities with a plate of food, Carsyn had no problem wearing her special hat...

Maybe a little weirded out by the singing and candle, but it gets better...

... not sure exactly what to do at first...

... making some progress...

"Mom, Dad, I'm going to throw up later, and it's going to smell really funky... but thank you so much for my treat!"

The family(where's Brady licking that tray?)...

All the kids posing with the birthday girl...

Carsyn checking out some of her generous gifts. Thankfully her cousin Caroline was there to help her figure it all out...

Tanner still playing the best big brother role...

Chilling on the couch with Daddy...

Carsyn enjoying a little breeze frome her humidifier. Pretty funny discovery...

Carsyn's trying really hard to push around her stroller she got for Christmas. Maybe a little big, but with her developing walking skills, she still finds her way around...

... but it's a lot easier to play with like this...

While we didn't quite get the amount of snow our families got in Pittsburgh and Ohio, it was still enough to create Mt. Tanner in the front yard. Here's Tanner claiming his peak...
